| The Project |
Dartford - Thurrock River Crossing is one of Europe's most heavily used crossings and complex traffic management systems. Spanning the Thames between Dartford and Thurrock, the crossing forms a vital link in the M25, Britain's most important orbital road. The facility comprises two two-lane tunnels carrying traffic to the north and a four-lane cable-stayed bridge carrying traffic to the south.

| The Challenge |
Babtie Consultants contacted TAM to discuss proposals for the sealing of water ingress through the pre-cast segment joints in the North bound tunnel section. The volume of water entering through the joint sections was leading to increased maintenance issues, degradation of the structure and hazardous road conditions. |
| The Solution |
TAM met with Babtie and after lengthy consultation drew up a design specification for controlling the water ingress issue. Based on the information provided and after a site inspection, TAM recommended the use of TamPur 100 to act as a specialist hydro reactive grout to be injected directly into the joints. Working in conjunction with the Specialist Contractor, the operation was undertaken within the scheduled period and proved completely successful. |

| Project Outcome |
Since completion and due to the success, TAM materials have been specified for use in ongoing remedial works to other parts of the tunnel. TAM has now become the preferred material supplier for these works. |
